American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with general surgery experience and call shift availability for a rotating day-shift assignment.
Details- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule with alternating start times and ), 40 hours per week
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- On-call shifts required, up to 5 per 6-week schedule (average of 3, mostly weekends), covering 7a-7p or 7p-7a 12-hour blocks
- One 12-hour buddy call orientation shift required within the first two weeks, scheduled on a weekend
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Active RN license (MD state license or Compact license) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of General Surgery OR experience required
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
- Recent experience required: 2 years within the last 7 years
- Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
- Two supervisory references required, including one from most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
- Driver's license required at time of consideration
- Perform circulating and scrub RN duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, urology, vascular, gynecology, and plastics
- Experience with robotics (Da Vinci Xi, Mako Surgical System) and endoscopic procedures is valued
- Facility requires Flu vaccination for all employees
- Scrubs are provided
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Previous Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel RN
- Manager interviews are not guaranteed
