Fiscal Analyst 2 (In-Training Option)
Salary: $54,204 – $72,900 annually.
Position type:
Full-time permanent, based in Olympia, Washington. Required to be in office 5 days per week.
This position reports to the General Accounting Manager and is responsible for exercising independent judgment in determining the application of rules and regulations (RCW, WAC, SAAM) in areas such as interfacing with multiple systems; general accounting and customer service; program development and payment processing.
Key Responsibilities- Payment & Deposit Processing
- Create and process payment batches.
- Confirm payment requests and deposit amounts are accurate.
- Investigate and respond to questions from teams, partners, and vendors.
- General Accounting Support and Customer Service
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Provide backup to accounting staff.
- Communicate professionally and produce high-quality work.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Process Improvement
- Assist fiscal staff with implementing new financial tools.
- Support development and implementation of organization-wide program improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree (may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis except for accounting credits).
- At least 12 semester or 18 quarter hours of college-level accounting; credits may include math, statistics, or other analytical math or science classes (to be vetted by HR).
- One year of experience in financial administration (accounts payable or accounts receivable).
- Consistent and reliable attendance with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with a personal computer and applicable software.
- Excel proficiency: formulas, functions, templates, styles, autoformats, and multiple worksheets.
- Experience with 10-key data entry.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and working with detailed numerical data.
- Experience performing accounting-related tasks.
- Experience performing reconciliations.
- Must reside in the State of Washington.
- Position requires office presence 5 days per week.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field of study.
- Experience with year-end and biennial-end closing per OFM Guidelines.
- Experience with Washington State financial systems.
- Customer service experience resolving inquiries, complaints, or issues by phone, email, or written communication.
- Accounting experience in a Washington state agency fiscal office.
The annual compensation ranges from $54,204 to $72,900 per year, depending on experience, educational background, and qualifications. Geographic differentials may apply.
