The salary range for this position is $4,033.00 - $5,364.00 monthly.

Thurston County Public Works is recruiting for a Senior Office Assistant to join our dynamic, energetic, and innovative Administrative Services team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality customer service to Public Works internal and external customers, advise the public regarding detailed regulations and procedures, utilize the computer and related programs to complete complex projects, and assist in the development of department/office procedures.

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Composes letters and memos and independently prepares, formats, and coordinates complex packages such as agenda items, contracts, change orders, and bid documents.

* Handles inquiries and requests from residents. Assists in resolving complaints or requests, requiring excellent customer service skills.

* Provides administrative support during various emergency situations.

* Maintains a wide variety of complex records, such as preparing technical, statistical, and narrative reports relating to operation of work unit.

* Performs a variety of coordinating activities for supervisor/manager; relays and obtains information from other County departments and outside agencies.

* Arranges meetings, itineraries, and calendars.

* Utilizes a variety of software, including desktop publishing packages, to create documents, brochures, information packages, educational materials, presentation items, and various other products.

* Coordinates and performs a variety of administrative support functions for assigned divisions, including Solid Waste and Water Resources.

* Assists with recruitment and onboarding activities, including communicating with applicants, scheduling interviews, and maintaining recruitment records.

Essential Personnel:
This position is considered to be an essential worker and may be required to work during non-business hours or closures in order to meet operational requirements and needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Work Environment - Duties are performed in office settings at both the Tilley Campus and the Waste and Recovery Center (WARC) in Olympia, Washington. Regular on-site attendance at both locations is required.

* Schedule
- Monday
- Friday, 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m.

* Travel Requirements - Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings.

* Customer Interactions - Daily interactions via phone, in-person, and video with Thurston County staff and the public.
