Budget and Fiscal Services (BFS)BFS is responsible for the management of all agency financial activities including Accounting, Budgeting, Contractual Agreements, Financial Systems, Grants, and Payroll. The division consists of the Budget Section, the Accounting Section, the Financial Systems and Payroll Section, and the Contracting Section.
The position is part of this team:This position contributes to the agency's mission as the primary budget analyst for the Commercial Vehicle Division, the Motor Carrier Safety Division, and the Property Management Division by providing support to management and ensuring that the agency's mission is accomplished in a fiscally responsible manner that meets the overall needs of the Washington State Patrol and the Office of Financial Management.
- Monitor budget status of divisions and project expenditures
- Develop budget and allotments
- Prepare fiscal notes
- Research budget related questions
- High school diploma or GED
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of agency staff.
- Must demonstrate the ability to build rapport and partner with others.
- Must demonstrate clear writing skills and the ability to present complex information in a way that is understandable to an audience.
- Must be able to use spreadsheet software to create, modify, format and print worksheets.
- Must be able to use word processing software to create, format and edit documents.
- Must demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment on occasions when the information available is somewhat ambiguous.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently, accurately and thoroughly.
- Must follow all relevant policies and procedures.
- Must adhere to safety policies by carefully observing and reporting potential hazards in the workplace.
