Hybrid:
Our physical office is in Olympia, WA. This is a hybrid position where most of the work allows for teleworking. However, you must reside in the state of Washington and travel to in-person activities, meetings, and events as needed for business purposes. The work schedule is a 40-hour workweek. However, the incumbent is occasionally expected to adjust their schedule and work additional unscheduled hours as needed to meet business demands.

About Technology Service Division:Technology Services Division (TSD) is responsible for supporting Department of Enterprise Services which is a central services organization providing support and services for state agencies, cities and municipalities, higher education, vendors, and the citizens of the state of Washington. Some of the services include contracting, mail, fleet, surplus, printing and imaging, workforce support & development, enterprise risk management, visitor services, finance and HR for internal and small agencies, and facilities, and capital campus security systems.

Aboutthe Business Analysis Unit:
The Business Analysis unit within TSD’s IT Project Management Office (IT PMO) provides business analysis services, such as business process analysis, facilitation and requirements elicitation, communication and training, documentation, and problem-solving services for programs within the agency. This unit is responsible for supporting the enhancement of DES’s 150+ current applications, creation of new custom build solutions and procurement of Software as a Service (SaaS) and Customer Off the Shelf systems (COTS).
Whatyou will be doing:
The Business Analyst Journey is a multi-function position that provides professional and technical services for DES enterprise- and division-specific systems. The position is delegated as the highest levels of responsibility to identify, plan, coordinate and implement all necessary business analysis services for broad program areas and complex business processes. The incumbent engages with end-users to executive leadership throughout the development lifecycle ensuring customers’ needs are heard and met.
The Business Analyst ensures end-users are prepared to receive the new technology (or business process) and DES is ready to support them. The position mentors and trains other Business Analysts.
This role is the liaison between business units and technical staff to develop systems which assist state agency staff in meeting their program goals. You will be responsible for performing business analysis activities for custom-built, SaaS, and COTS solutions, along with business process improvements projects as assigned. This includes but is not limited to providing consultation and business expertise for the analysis, documentation, testing and implementation of application systems and process improvements agency wide.
