Public Administration Electives (Pool, Part-Time Adjunct)
The Evergreen State College Master of Public Administration (MPA) program seeks to create a pool of adjunct faculty able to teach four‑credit elective master’s‑level public administration courses for the academic year 2026‑27. Specific courses include:
- Four‑credit electives (courses TBD)
- Proposals to teach a two‑credit elective (Fall quarter 2026)
Adjunct faculty typically teach one or more 2‑quarter hour or 4‑quarter hour elective MPA courses. Typical course enrollment is approximately 15 graduate students for elective MPA courses.
Teaching is student‑centered, helping students develop strong skills in critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaborative work. We emphasize diversity and equity, challenge and growth, and foster a welcoming learning environment for all students.
This is an adjunct position, not eligible for continuing appointment. All requirements must be completed at the time of hire.
Salary for all positions is based on experience and degrees (see Salary Grid for more information). We do not offer relocation expenses.
Qualifications- Masters or Ph.D. in public administration or related field.
- Experience in teaching graduate‑level courses in public administration or related field, or two or more years of professional experience in public administration.
- Ph.D. in public administration or related field.
- Experience teaching in an interdisciplinary setting.

Salary InformationSalary $3,710–$8,361 per one‑quarter, 4‑credit course. Faculty membership is unranked with salary determined on a non‑competitive, open scale based on earned degrees and years of relevant experience.
