Learning And Development Specialist
The Washington State School Directors' Association (WSSDA) is in search of highly qualified candidates to serve as a part-time Learning and Development Specialist. WSSDA is seeking someone who is a continuous learner, innovative, collaborative, and eager to contribute to the excellence in public education in Washington State through the support and professional development of school board members.
Guided by WSSDA's mission, vision, and goals, this person will work closely with the chief financial officer to identify and fulfill the administrative needs of WSSDA and the 1,477 locally elected school board members who are its members.
A state agency, WSSDA helps school boards perform effective governance by providing research-based professional development opportunities, model policy development and legal resources, and assisting board members with communicating the needs of their school districts to Washington's legislators. Established in 1922, WSSDA's services and supports are available to boards from all 295 school districts serving more than 1.1 million students in Washington state.
The school districts have combined local, state, and federal annual budgets of nearly $11 billion, and employ more than 160,000 people. The WSSDA office is located in Olympia, Washington where 16 staff members are employed.
COMPENSATION: $36,000 - $40,000 annually depending upon qualifications, and it is based on an average of 20 hours per week.
