Summary

Wa He Lut Indian School is seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Substitute Teacher. This role is essential in providing continuity of education for our students in the absence of regular classroom teachers. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging learning environment, ensuring that students remain focused and productive while maintaining the school's educational standards.

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students.
• Assist students in understanding assignments and provide support as needed.
• Supervise students during activities and transitions to ensure safety and order.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as necessary.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and report any issues to school administration.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities when available.
• Uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to student conduct and safety.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
• Valid state teaching certification or substitute teaching permit.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs.
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for education.
• Background check clearance as required by state law.
