Training Manager

As the Training Manager, you will lead the Training and Policy Development unit while designing, developing, and delivering training, guidance, and instructional support for adult learners. You will foster a collaborative, people-centered team environment by coaching and supporting staff, overseeing the development of training created by team members, and ensuring consistent, high-quality learning experiences. With your ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on training development, you will provide consistent and effective training.
Some of what you will do:
- Design, develop, and implement specialized technical training courses on the DRIVES licensing system that support program-specific job functions and operational needs for Driver and Vehicle Records (DVR) staff.
- Develop and maintain program-specific training materials, including training manuals, handbooks, job aids, visual aids, and computer- and web-based tutorials.
- Direct other program training initiatives, including contemporary leadership development, policy development, and technical licensing system training unique to Driver and Vehicle Records program staff.
- Ensure the effective delivery of training services (classes, presentations, workshops), program policy documentation, course evaluation activities, data analysis, and agency directed initiatives.
What you will bring to the role:
- Seven (7) years of demonstrated professional experience developing, delivering, or designing classes, workshops, and course materials using contemporary adult learning theories, principles, and practices.
Up to four (4) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience. Experience must include:
- Two (2) years of experience supervising employees; coaching, counseling, directing work, training, evaluating performance, and holding individuals accountable to meeting expectations.
- Two (2) years of experience facilitating interactive training in a virtual or hybrid learning environment using collaboration and instructional delivery platforms.
- Two (2) years of experience using standard office and data processing software, to support analysis, reporting, communications, and program operations.
- The ability to:

What may help set you apart:
- A master's degree in business, human resources, computer science, adult education or closely related field.
- Professional certification or credentials in education, teaching, organizational development, or instructional delivery.
- Three (3) years of experience executing project management best practices and methodologies which could include leading projects, creating project plans, managing timelines, deliverables, risks, identifying outcomes and communicating the status of projects to project members and interested parties.
- Two (2) years of experience managing SharePoint sites and content.
- Three (3) years of experience using an e-learning development program such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or equivalent to develop asynchronous online learning content.
- One (1) year of experience navigating the DRIVES licensing system including interpreting and manipulating driver and vehicle records.
