Job Purpose Statement
The job of "Teacher – Elementary" is done for the purpose/s of facilitating student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Position to begin employment in the school year.
This position works Monday – Friday 11:30 am – 3:15 pm.
Employees will receive vacation leave, paid holidays and additional compensation beyond their base salary as outlined in their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Essential Job Functions- Collaborates with teachers to develop and implement high-quality visual arts instruction and integrated learning experiences.
- Develops, curates, and shares standards-aligned lesson plans, instructional resources, and model units connected to visual arts and arts integration.
- Supports teachers in integrating visual arts into literacy, social studies, science, and other content areas through project-based and experiential learning opportunities.
- Coordinates and supports partnerships with community organizations, artists, museums, and arts-based programs to expand student learning opportunities.
- Assists with the planning and implementation of district-supported arts initiatives, events, and showcase opportunities.
- Facilitates professional learning opportunities related to arts integration, instructional strategies, creativity, engagement, and inclusive instructional practices.
- Collaborates with district and school staff to support equitable access to arts experiences for all students.
- Participates in district and school meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities related to arts instruction and integrated learning.
- Supports curriculum mapping in content areas to include art integration.
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Participates in various meetings for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.
- Experience Required
- Successful experience teaching elementary students
- Experience in arts instruction and/or arts integration, preferred
- Experience collaborating with colleagues on instructional planning and professional learning preferred
- Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities
Required: - Strong instructional planning and collaboration skills
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, students, families, and community partners
- Ability to facilitate adult learning and coaching conversations
- Ability to organize and coordinate projects and partnerships
- Understanding and experience with implementing principals of UDL (universal design for learning)
- Washington State Learning Standards
- Instructional best practices
- Arts integration and project-based learning strategies such as CRE unit planning
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships
- Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing
Required:
Teaching Credential for level of instruction, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
