Training Coordinator
This is an opportunity to facilitate, coordinate, and deliver training to support the learning, leadership, and safety of a diverse workforce of over 2,000 employees and partners. With a focus on staff development, risk reduction, and operational excellence, you will independently lead training operations and systems management. By applying strategic thinking, data-driven analysis, and effective communication, you'll navigate complex challenges and deliver impactful training solutions.
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Training Coordinator will:
- Facilitate in-person and on-line required, planned, and just-in-time training on a variety of subjects including human resources management, leadership, communications, conflict resolution, situational awareness, safety, team building, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Deploy, collect, evaluate, and integrate relevant feedback from course evaluations for continuous improvement of class effectiveness, instructor delivery, and to maintain fidelity to training models.
- Provide employees, supervisors, programs, and management individualized and group training consultation to identify training needs and formulate training plans.
Coordinate and direct agency training classes, instructors, contracts, and logistics to create seamless services for employees:
- Develop and manage training contracts and instructors.
- Establish and monitor training contracts with external vendors insuring receipt of all deliverables and authorizing payment.
- Develop and manage training logistics.
- Provide supervisors with consultation and direction to ensure employee attendance, participation, and completion of courses.
- Establish, monitor, and approve contracts for logistical supports including training rooms, equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
- Manage procurement and billing of training materials.
- Maintain, manage, and disseminate training materials for courses.
Working Conditions:
Work setting, including hazards:
Work is performed almost exclusively indoors in an office environment on site at the Natural Resources Building in Olympia and/or hybrid. While this position offers a hybrid work arrangement, the successful candidate must be available to report to the Olympia, WA headquarters as needed.
Schedule:
Typically, Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day working 40 hours per week. Occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Alternative schedules may be considered based on business needs.
Travel Requirements:
Statewide and overnight travel is required to deliver training, meet stakeholders, attend meetings, and conduct agency business.
Customer Interactions:
Frequent contact with internal and external stakeholders by phone, email, and in-person.
Qualifications:
Closely related qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-by-year basis.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, adult learning, instructional design, or related field
And
Two (2) years of professional human resource experience.
Or
Three (3) years of experience as a Human Resource Consultant 2.
In addition, the incumbent must have one (1) year of professional experience with the following (may be gained concurrently):
- Learning Management System (LMS)
- Adult education and training
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications, our ideal applicant will possess one or more of the following:
Master's degree with a focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, adult learning, instructional design, or related field and two (2) or more years professional human resource experience.
Two (2) years or more of professional experience with:
- Learning Management System
- Adult education and training
- Developing eLearning curriculum
