Key

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education required;
  Masters degree in Special Education is highly preferred
• Active Washington State Education Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate, endorsed as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor in Special Education
• Strong understanding of best practices in orientation and mobility, especially within a school-based setting
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluations for K-12 students with visual impairments
• Develop and deliver specially designed instruction tailored to individual student needs
• Implement individualized travel training programs, both within school campuses and in the surrounding community
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student goals and promote access to the curriculum
• Provide regular progress updates and adapt instruction as necessary based on student outcomes
• Serve as a resource to educators and families regarding best practices for orientation and mobility
