IT Network & Telecommunications Senior Specialist

Full‑time, permanent position. This is a telework/hybrid opportunity that allows the candidate to work from any Washington state location with a reliable internet connection. Travel may be required.

• Design, engineer, and enhance the agency’s enterprise network infrastructure encompassing wide‑area, campus, cloud, and data center networks that support DOC operations across Washington State.
• Provide advanced engineering in network architecture, routing and switching, firewalls, troubleshooting, and system integration with a focus on building highly available, secure, and well‑designed infrastructure.
• Lead continuous service improvement initiatives, implement modern solutions, and ensure alignment with industry best practices to support the Results DOC mission and vision.
• Perform auditing and troubleshooting of network availability, performance, functionality, and integrity.
• Administer, maintain, and monitor enterprise data networking and related systems; complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational tasks.
• Provide leadership and supervision to the DVNS Operations Team, including:
• Supervise engineers on technical support for incidents and service requests.
• Respond to technical inquiries and disseminate operational direction.
• Ensure adherence to standard processes and documentation in DVNS service delivery.
• Write performance evaluations, position descriptions, and expectations; oversee the hiring process.
• Produce operational reporting for DVNS and perform other duties as assigned.

• Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eight (8) years of experience in information technology.
• Four years of experience in the last five years supporting data network services, including enterprise‑wide area, campus, and data center networking platforms with at least 300 network components.
• Four (4) years of professional experience analyzing customer requirements and recommending successful solutions.
• Three (3) years of technical experience engineering wide‑area networks.
• Three (3) years of technical experience engineering campus data networks.
• One (1) year of technical experience engineering data center technologies (firewalls, load balancers, overlay networks).
• Four (4) years of technical experience engineering enterprise networking platforms.
• Preferred:
• Three (3) years of technical experience installing, configuring, and engineering enterprise routers.
• Three (3) years of technical experience installing, configuring, and engineering core and distribution switches.
• Three (3) years of technical experience engineering the Cisco UCS blade‑based hardware platform.
• Four (4) years of experience administering Cisco IOS.
• Three (3) years of experience administering Solar Winds or Data Dog.
• One (1) year of experience scripting in Power Shell.
• Certifications such as Cisco CCNP.

Salary range: $92,760 – $124,752 annually.
