• Project Delivery:
  Manage planning studies of varying degrees including scope, schedule, quality, and financial management.
• Technical Leadership:
  Provide technical direction and task leadership for transportation projects and collaborate with Smart Mobility leaders in other markets and across DEA’s diverse business units, markets, and technical practices to assist with staffing to fulfill project and business development opportunities.
• Business Development:
  Provide leadership and assistance in cultivating and maintaining effective client relationships to support business development opportunities.
• Staff Development:
  Promote employee development with mentoring and training for junior staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, transportation engineering, urban design, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with transportation planning and engineering studies.
• Recent and relevant transportation project or transportation plan development experience in the Puget Sound Region.
• Collaborative team player who communicates effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Takes ownership and shows initiative in delivering high‑quality work.

• Certification as an AICP and/or Professional Engineer (PE).
• Strong professional relationships in the Puget Sound Region.
• Experience leading project teams and managing projects in the transportation planning field.
• Experience training others in fundamentals of transportation planning.
• Master’s degree in urban or regional planning, transportation engineering, urban design, or closely related field.

• Potential salary range: $145,000 - $170,000. The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
