Job Overview

Part‑Time Criminal Court Researcher (Bolivar & Washington counties, Mississippi)

Authorized U.S. workers who live within 30 minutes of the courthouse and hold a valid driver’s license are encouraged to apply.

Travel to assigned courthouses to research and review criminal and civil public record information. Perform additional research from applicable websites, interpret court records, document and modify search results, and provide accurate case details to the Central Records Retrieval Group (CRRG) via database integration or e‑mail.

Conduct criminal background checks using electronic public access systems at criminal court houses. Utilize public access criminal court records through phone, fax, web, or Wi‑Fi. Verify information, upload search results, and investigate improvements in background check methods.

Bolivar & Washington County Courthouse. Part‑time (20 hours/week, typically 4 hours/day, Monday‑Friday). Morning shifts (e.g., 8 am‑1 pm Central Time). Must travel to the courthouse daily.

• Hourly wage: approximately $16.00 USD.
• Monthly gas stipend: $200 per jurisdiction.
• Company‑supplied equipment (laptop, printer/ scanner/ fax machine) and personal cell phone reimbursement.

• Perform additional research as required from applicable websites.
• Interpret court records, document results, edit and modify searches, and pursue additional info from courts and agencies to ensure compliance.
• Provide accurate case information to the CRRG via database integration or e‑mail.
• Conduct criminal background checks using electronic public access systems at criminal court houses.
• Utilize public access criminal court records via phone, fax, web, Wi‑Fi to conduct searches.
• Verify information, forward results by scanning and uploading search results.
• Investigate and provide updates on new methods of performing background checks.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel daily to the courthouse.
• Residence within a 30‑minute commute to the courthouse.
• Reliable Wi‑Fi access at home and a document shredder.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read legal documentation and experience in administrative, legal court research, and/or professional work.
• Work well under pressure with tight deadlines, extreme accuracy, and detail orientation.
• Ability to prioritize and structure daily tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong organizational and research skills.
• Independent worker who accepts direction.
