Salary Range: $6,452 – $8,671 Monthly
Telework eligible – candidates may work from anywhere within Washington state with a reliable internet connection. In-person meetings and training may be required.
This recruitment may fill multiple positions. The role is represented by Teamsters Local 117.
- Conduct complex, project‑based audits of sentence structure and time calculations to ensure accurate determination of release dates statewide.
- Utilize audit‑selected records based on criteria identified through quality assurance audits and critical incident findings.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of sentence structure and criminal history information.
- Validate agency jurisdiction of sentences and ensure records comply with applicable laws, court decisions, agency policies, and retention schedules.
- Analyze all aspects of an individual’s sentence structure during audits and collaborate with Records Managers and the Statewide Records Director to develop improvements.
- Draft recommendations for process changes, review criteria for selected offender records, and document outcomes for reporting.
- Maintain accurate project reporting for the Records Leadership Team via electronic database information (e.g., SharePoint, Excel).
- Conduct complex level audits of records across multiple Records Units within the Division and State, validating accuracy, completeness, and data integrity as ordered by the court.
- Track and monitor proposed or pending changes to laws, regulations, agency policies, and records processes; report potential impacts for records management and sentence calculations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent AND
- Three (3) years of experience in Washington State processing, maintaining, and reviewing legal records used to determine agency jurisdiction and sentencing calculations in a correctional facility, community corrections, or other legal agency; OR experience supervising staff performing these functions.
- College‑level coursework in criminal justice, business administration, accounting, social science, or a related field will replace up to two years of experience.
- Jurisdiction defined as authority to confine/release, supervise/close based on the judgment and sentence.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional experience in Washington State adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or closely related field providing experience with sentence reform act, sentencing guidelines, present‑sentence investigations, and records project experience.
- Experience processing sentencing documents to establish agency jurisdiction in a Washington State criminal court setting.
