Cultural Resources Policy & Consultation Specialist - Environmental Planner

The Cultural Resources Policy Consultation Specialist serves as the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's technical expert in cultural resource management, archaeology, tribal relations, and regulatory compliance. This Environmental Planner 4 position provides leadership on cultural resource reviews, Section 106 compliance, and tribal consultation while supervising a team performing compliance and consultation work. The role ensures cultural resources are integrated into environmental planning and project implementation across the agency, working collaboratively with tribal governments, public agencies, and other stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in cultural resource management, anthropology, archaeology, tribal relations, or related field
• Seven years of professional experience with regulatory cultural resource compliance under Section 106 NHPA and state environmental regulations
• Demonstrated experience leading formal consultations with Federally Recognized Tribes and state historic preservation officers
• Ability to establish and manage collaborative relationships with Tribal governments and state/federal/local agencies
• Experience designing and implementing cultural resource review protocols and compliance tracking mechanisms
• Valid driver's license and ability to access DAHP WISAARD database
