The Environmental Planner 2 works for the Washington State Pollution Liability Insurance Agency (PLIA) to review applications, environmental reports, and financial requests for underground storage tank cleanup programs. The role involves evaluating program eligibility, processing financial requests, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting customers across Washington State. This position reports to the Project Planning Programs Supervisor and offers hybrid/flexible work in Olympia.
Keyqualifications:
- Seven years of professional experience in land use, urban, regional, environmental, or natural resource planning (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Knowledge of planning principles, environmental laws, and state/local government organization
- Ability to review information, make clear decisions following state rules, and apply regulations and policies
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and interact effectively with coworkers and customers
- Commitment to ethical behavior, confidentiality, diversity and inclusion, and personal growth
