Make a Real Impact in Washington’s Courts! Join Us in Advancing Equity and Language Access!

The Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a passionate and dedicated Court Program Analyst (Language Access Plan Coordinator) to provide guidance, problem solving, and technical assistance to trial courts about language access requirements, with a goal of strengthening statewide consistency and quality in language access practices. If you’re driven by equity, improving language access, and meaningful public service, this role offers the chance to directly improve how Washingtonians experience the justice system.

As part of the Office of Court Innovation, you’ll join a collaborative Language Access Team within the Supreme Court Commissions unit – experts focused on racial equity, gender equity, language access, and tribal relations in Washington State Courts. You’ll work alongside skilled policy analysts and coordinators addressing real issues impacting our court system today.

In this role, you will provide technical assistance to trial courts to help them meet the language access requirements in RCW 2.43.090 and other applicable laws, rules, and policies. Conduct a comprehensive review of Language Access Plans (LAPs) submitted by courts to the AOC. Support courts in improving LAP quality and compliance over time. Support language access improvements through policy analysis and research.

Build and maintain productive relationships with courts, interpreters, advocates, state agency counterparts, community organizations, and national partners. Support Language Access Team projects and represent the Team in committees and work groups. Support other teams at AOC with language access matters.

Success in this position calls for strong organization and project management practices, collaboration, clear communication, solid writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. A successful candidate will be able to adapt to evolving processes, demonstrate initiative, exercise sound judgment, and make recommendations. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, M365 tools, and virtual meeting platforms is important, along with a demonstrated commitment to advancing equitable access to justice.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful difference and help ensure every person regardless of the language they communicate in can fully participate in Washington’s court system, this role offers a powerful opportunity to contribute.
