Overview
Phlebotomist is responsible for clinical laboratory duties, including:
- All Sites:
Reception and telephone duties & proficient operation of laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling: receiving and processing; prep & shipping of lab specimens for reference laboratories; specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy – collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific micro samples (per competency); assignment to OP lab locations; training new staff as assigned.

Required Qualifications- Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.
- 6 months of direct experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a phlebotomy program.
- Coursework/Training:
Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training program/course approved by WA State.
