PBX Operator

Overview

The Switchboard Operator position is responsible for answering the hospital's main lines, responding to customers, and processing calls in the most efficient and expedient manner; for public address paging, remote pager paging, radio paging, inputting physician messages, providing customers with physician contact information, monitoring and responding to all hospital/campus alarms and emergency procedures, and documenting and maintaining files of all communications materials.

The position contacts cath-lab on-call staff for emergency medical procedures, contacts on-call biomedical, maintenance, spiritual care, and administration staff, and processes all calls and messages to SSIP physicians.
