DSHS’s Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is hiring multiple permanent team members to serve as dedicated consultants ensuring people we serve have access to high‑quality, reliable services close to home. Your experience, knowledge and skills make a difference.
Responsibilities- Contribute to statewide recruitment efforts for 20+ services and facilitate their contracting, onboarding, training, and monitoring efforts.
- Conduct regional service analyses to identify gaps in the provider network and work with your team and regional staff to develop targeted strategies to address them.
- Conduct direct outreach to existing and potential DDA service providers within assigned regions.
- Represent DDA at local provider meetings, community events, and regional forums to promote program awareness and provider opportunities.
- Design and maintain resource development tools and reporting mechanisms to capture outreach and recruitment activities, and engagement outcomes to help identify successes and areas of growth early.
- Facilitate resolutions and troubleshoot issues between DDA field staff and providers regarding service delivery.
- Apply equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion (EDAI) principles across all work.
- Participate in team meetings and partner with other Regional and HQ‑based RDPCs and contribute field insights to inform resource development program and process improvements.
- Conduct occasional statewide and regional travel, including to rural communities to perform provider recruitment and technical assistance activities, as needed.
- One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent.
- Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent.
- A master's degree in social work, health or social science, public administration, or a related field AND four years of professional experience planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
- A bachelor's degree in social work, health or social science, public administration, or a related field AND five years of professional experience planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
- A combination of education and professional experience totaling at least nine years.
Note: A degree in social work must be from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Additional Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
- Direct client service experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, social work, public benefits and other related community support services.
- Understanding of programs, principles, regulations, and statutes related to public benefits and services, including but not exclusive to:
Home and Community Based Services Waivers and DDA Contracts. - Experience independently planning, organizing, and producing quality deliverables in multiple assignments with tight time frames.
- Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data from multiple systems and make thoughtful recommendations that result in positive program changes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships with a broad range of individuals and entities – internal and external.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, plan coordinate, recruit, onboard and help train potential contracted providers.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to write and speak effectively with management, peers, clients, client families, providers, partners, agencies and other stakeholders as required to carry out the assigned duties of this position.
- Ability to act as a liaison between headquarters staff, technical staff, and field services staff to ensure good communication regarding user needs and system requirements.
- Ability to link and communicate DDCS’s values with program, policy, and practice.
