This position has regular contact with or control over Indian Children and Vulnerable Adults. In compliance with Federal Law, this position will not be filled by an applicant with any felonious offense or any of two or more misdemeanor offenses under Federal, State, or Tribal law involving crimes of violence; sexual assault, molestation, exploitation, contact, or prostitution; crimes against persons; or offenses committed against children.

NATURE

OF WORK:

This position is responsible for providing oversight and management of pharmacy operations and for the management and supervision of ancillary staff at the Nisqually Tribal Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Administrative Manager ensures compliance with policies and procedures, evaluates the quality of staff work, develops reports and budgets, and works to meet established goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and assign work, recommend selection, evaluate performance, train and develop, and take corrective actions for assigned pharmacy staff.
  • Remain up to date on applicable laws and regulations in order to keep the program in compliance; ensure required credentialing and certifications are maintained.
  • Provide oversight and management for tribal pharmacy clinic operations including
  • pharmacy program planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of services, policies and procedures in cooperation with the Nisqually Tribal Pharmacists.
  • Chair pharmacy staff meetings.
  • Ensure all certifications, licenses, and annual contracts are routed and signed prior to expiration to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Business Office for referral processes and billing issues as needed.
  • Participate in health services planning through interaction with Tribal Health Board and planner as directed.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate pharmacy policies, procedures, and operations;
  • collaborate with pharmacists for technical guidance.
  • Provide fiscal planning, development, review, monitoring, management and compliance of pharmacy program annual budgets and grants, as assigned.
  • Manage fiscal operations such as purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices
  • Identify staff development needs, research and select solutions, lead team building activities, and coordinate necessary trainings.
  • Manage work schedules and organize specialty contractors and events.
  • Represent the facility at governing boards and meetings as directed.
  • Track performance measures and other programmatic data as required.
  • Communicate regularly with members of the pharmacy staff and department heads.
  • Work as a liaison to off reservation providers in the development of health care referral network for tribal clinic.
  • Oversee Quality Management Plan in coordination with the staff pharmacists responsible for quality improvement and ensure compliance with all Federal, Tribal, State managed care standards, regulations, policies and procedures; monitor pharmacy operations and implement corrective action, maintain error log and communication log books.
  • Improve efficiency and quality in the delivery of healthcare services.
  • Responsible for contacting, working with IT and pharmacy EMR technicians, and managing Help tickets for pharmacy program for timely resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
