Brief
Description:
- Medical Science Liaison (MSL) on a field-based team supporting US Medical Affairs. Develops relationships with medical thought leaders, provides medical/scientific exchange and clinical/scientific support.
- Field coverage:
Northern California, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, & Montana.
- Identify/develop KOL and HCP peer relationships; execute territory plans aligned to US Medical Affairs.
- Communicate clinical/research insights to internal departments.
- Provide medical education via on-site presentations, investigator meetings, conferences, advisory boards, regional meetings.
- Support activities including medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training.
- Act as scientific expert: maintain therapy area/product knowledge; support Jazz’s scientific authority; attend congresses; present responses to unsolicited questions.
- Communicate emerging data/clinical experience objectively; support data generation (company-sponsored, collaborations, ISTs).
- Contribute to US Medical Plan; provide input to local strategies; manage relevant budget (as needed).
- Work cross-functionally for Key Account Management; interact with HCPs (advisory boards, speaker development, clinical trials).
- Maintain standards/Jazz Values: adverse event/product complaint reporting, adhere to Codes of Practice, ethical/integrity, ambassador; keep development plan; timely reporting.
- Analyze/communicate complex scientific/medical info; clear presentation/communication; strong planning/organization; strategic mindset; autonomous; quick learner/flexible; negotiation; interpersonal relationship building; work with digital tools; spoken English; travel 60%+ with driving.
- Academic/healthcare geography & experts; trust-building with KOLs; regulatory understanding; oncology; proven MSL success.
- PharmD/MD/PhD (or equivalent) + 3+ years in therapeutic area.
- OR license (RN/NP/CNP/PA or equivalent) + Master’s (or equivalent) + 5+ years clinical practice.
- 2+ years MSL or comparable industry/clinical role.
- Willing to travel 60–70%; valid driver’s license; live within 60 miles of a major airport.
- Base pay range: $160,000–$240,000; potential bonus/incentive and discretionary equity; medical/dental/vision, 401(k), flexible paid vacation.
