Redtech is helping our client with a Contractor search for a Test Engineer for a Workday Transformation Program
. This role will focus on creating test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases. Past experience with Workday and/or government/public sector is highly preferred.
Location
: Mostly remote – must live in a commutable location to accommodate quarterly in-person meetings, onsite in Olympia WA
Schedule
:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Compensation Range
: approx. $65-70/hr W-2 (pay range assumes full participation in available benefits)

Our client is seeking a Test Engineer to support a large‑scale enterprise transformation initiative implementing Workday. This role will support program‑level testing activities, including test strategy development, test planning, test case creation, execution coordination, defect management, and validation of business processes and integrations.
The Test Engineer will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, implementation partners, and agency teams to ensure the Workday solution meets functional, integration, and data transformation requirements.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for Workday implementation activities.
- Support functional, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end testing efforts.
- Execute test cases, document results, identify issues, and track defects through resolution.
- Partner with business analysts, developers, integration teams, and stakeholders to validate requirements and expected outcomes.
- Analyze system behavior and data flows across enterprise applications.
- Support testing of integrations between legacy systems and Workday.
- Assist with validation of the transformation layer/API that translates data between legacy accounting structures and the Workday Foundation Data Model.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation testing between source systems and Workday.
- Participate in defect triage meetings and provide clear communication on testing status, risks, and issues.
- Help improve testing processes, documentation, and quality assurance practices.
- Support preparation for production readiness and go‑live activities.
- 5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer, QA Analyst, or Software Test Professional.
- Experience creating test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases.
- Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
- Strong defect management experience and ability to communicate issues clearly.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business processes, workflows, and data relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience testing Workday implementations or other ERP platforms.
- Experience with financial systems, accounting processes, or enterprise reporting systems.
- Experience with public sector, government, or large‑scale organizational implementations.
