Dynamic 365 Solutions Architect | IT Architecture Senior Specialist

Full Time | Permanent | Salary Range: $104,304 – $140,268 Annually | Telework/hybrid (anywhere in Washington state with reliable internet, travel may be required).

The Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Dynamic 365 Solutions Architect (IT Architecture Senior Specialist) to play a critical role in the Dynamics 365 Program, helping modernize enterprise systems that support core correctional operations and advance the agency’s mission to improve public safety by positively changing lives.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions by designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available systems. You will evaluate business requirements, identify the most effective technical solutions, and communicate architectural strategies and recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership. Working closely with product owners and project teams, you will guide the planning and execution of enterprise initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and support long-term modernization efforts.

As a technical leader, you will ensure that DOC’s data systems and infrastructure are stable, well-designed, and aligned with industry best practices. Through the implementation and support of highly available technologies, you will help strengthen business performance, maintain critical operations, and deliver solutions that position the agency for future success.

• Working with Product Line Owners (PLO) to define the vision and requirements for solutions within the Dynamics 365 program, recommending options, facilitating the solution selection process, and oversight of technical implementation.
  • Converting business and technical requirements into new technology solutions
  • Effectively articulating technical decisions, constraints, and opportunities to a non-technical audience
  • Identifying customer requirements, analyzing alternatives, and producing product recommendations related to software, platform, and system configurations
  • Collaborating with business areas and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions include technical requirements that accurately address business needs
  • Creating roadmaps that link outcomes, capabilities (business and technical), and processing to schedule and resources
  • Working with Enterprise Architecture Office and Program leadership to ensure all relevant stakeholders are represented in the decision process
  • Reviewing product life cycle initiatives and projects to ensure alignment with Dynamics 365 industry standards and best practices for solution architecture
• Identifying architectural solutions to business needs, addressing gaps in Dynamics 365 native functionality, and ensuring solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  • Working with technical teams, subject matter experts, and vendors to identify sustainable solutions to gaps in Dynamics 365 native functionality
  • Developing solutions intended to support program investment decisions
• Engaging with enterprise IT governance to shape agency architectural standards and facilitate program alignment
• Supervising Dynamics 365 developers and cultivating platform technical expertise within DOC

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Either fourteen (14) years of progressive technical and leadership experience in a related IT discipline, or a bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university and ten (10) years of progressive technical and leadership experience in a related IT discipline
• Five years experience working in a complex/enterprise IT environment across multiple disciplines (IT Security, software development, network engineering, application security, database, risk management, project management, etc.)
• Two years experience designing solutions in cloud and hybrid cloud environments to meet business needs
