Base salary range: $136,000 – $203,000 per year. Includes variable pay, equity, and benefits.

The Trust and Security team focuses on protecting Google users from harmful content across products such as Search, Maps, Gmail, and Ads. The role involves a global, cross‑functional collaboration to detect, investigate, and mitigate misuse and security risks.

• Four‑year degree in Software Engineering, Data Innovation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data security.
• Strong programming or data analysis skills (SQL, MySQL, Python).
• Experience with malware or application investigation.
• Experience with cloud‑based applications.
• Experience with security monitoring and investigation tools.
• Experience performing security reviews.
• Experience improving and implementing security controls.
• Knowledge of security standards and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and critical‑thinking skills.

• Screen and investigate cloud‑based applications for security weaknesses.
• Design and implement security responses to mitigate risk to Google users.
• Identify and amplify risk factors at the lifecycle and engineering signal level.
• Prioritize, plan, and execute risk mitigation initiatives with cross‑functional teams.
• Communicate key performance metrics and provide insights on risks and process improvements.
• Coordinate with Trust and Security groups to align mitigation measures.
• Audit or present to sensitive data as part of the core role.
• Participate in on‑call incident response, which may include non‑standard hours (weekends, evenings).
