Piedmont Global
is looking for freelance Interpreters on-site to provide language interpretation services from ENAll Languages. (Spanish, ASL, Arabic, Albanian, French, Khmer, Korean, Mandarin, and Vietnamese interpreters are strongly encouraged to apply.)

These are 1099 (Independent Contractor) positions with interpretation to take place on-site (OS), via video (VRI), or over the phone (OPI), depending on our customers' specific needs.

• Serve as an Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos, and personalities.
• Provide parties with exact interpretations of verbal communication without additions or omissions.
• Provide interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and other forms of verbal communication.
• Render sight translations of documents and other written materials as needed.
• Impart the speaker's thoughts, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone from a source language into a target language, and vice-versa.
• Inform relevant parties of any factors that may hinder performance.
• Comply with applicable ethics and standards.

• Hold a government-issued valid form of identification
• Based near the Washington DC metropolitan area
• Access to a mobile phone and computer
• At least two (2) years of interpreting experience, paid or as a volunteer
• Two (2) relevant professional references that can vouch for the candidate's work as an interpreter OR one (1) relevant professional reference and one (1) relevant professional letter of recommendation
• Proficiency in English and target language
• Be able to abide by the Client's specific and State mandated COVID regulations. Piedmont Global supports several Federal Government clients and other contracts requiring a COVID vaccination or exemption for U.S. based individuals.

• University degree in Interpretation
• If available, the interpreters may provide proof of the following:
  Certification as a medical interpreter from a 40-hour-program or equivalent (i.e., CHIT Community, Bridging the Gap, TCI, Healthcare Interpreter Training)
• Test results from other organizations (testing centers, other LSPs, etc.)
