Position: Flagger/Laborer (3 Positions)

Job Overview

The Flagger/Laborer (3 Positions) role is located in the Thurston County Public Works Department, Olympia, Washington. The salary range for this position is $3,927.00 – $4,866.00 monthly.

Responsibilities
  • Control traffic by flagging to guide vehicles and pedestrians through work areas and explain job purposes in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Exercise good safety procedures and practices on all job sites.
  • Operate vehicles up to one ton and a variety of equipment, including weed eater, airless sprayer, pressure washer, portable compactor, hand tools, propane torch, and portable brush cleaner.
  • Perform manual labor, including heavy lifting and shoveling, and assist crews with vegetation, drainage, traffic, new sign and base installation, and surfacing projects.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of construction‑related experience.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License.
  • Washington Traffic Flagging Card or obtain one within six months of employment.
  • First Aid Card or obtain within three months of employment.
  • Ability to perform labor‑intensive tasks for extended periods under unfavorable weather conditions and safely operate tools and equipment.
