Position and Salary

Administrative Operations Manager (WMS Band 1) – full‑time permanent – Agriculture and Health Division – Olympia, WA – not union‑represented.

  • Band 1 in the Washington Management Services structure.
  • Salary range: $88,800 - $106,543 annually.
  • Potential growth up to $109,740.
  • Dual‑language requirement stipend (5%) if applicable.

Position Description

The Administrative Operations Manager (AOM) manages all administrative functions of the Agriculture and Health Division, in partnership with the Division Chief and the Management Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing hiring processes and supervising staff.
  • Developing and monitoring the division’s budget.
  • Overseeing equipment, supplies, and workspace needs with building management.
  • Implementing division‑wide policies and procedures.
  • Providing oversight of legal support functions (supervising the Paralegal 2 and Paralegal 1 staff).
  • Onboarding staff, providing mentorship, and ensuring professional development.
Desired Qualifications

Required:

Six years of experience through one or more of the following:

  • Paralegal certification.
  • Two‑year paralegal degree.
  • Paraprofessional experience supporting attorneys, including at least two years of supervision in a legal setting.

Ideal candidate:
Empathetic, professional, experienced in managing legal personnel and projects, comfortable with complex work, detail‑oriented, strong people skills, a collaborative team player, and capable of building and supporting a diverse, inclusive work environment.
