Machine Operator

Job Description

In the Production Department, this entry‑level position will perform general labor duties such as housekeeping, sorting cans, and rework products; perform product repair as requested; and be responsible for safety in all assigned duties.

Union contract wage is $29.18/hr.

This is a union position and includes a pension.

• Minimum 18 years old.
• Minimum 6 months’ work experience in a manufacturing company is highly desirable.
• Mechanical experience working in a manufacturing setting or familiarity with power and hand tools is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess basic math skills.

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms; may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must stand for long periods, work on elevated stationary platforms, and withstand extreme climate changes during summer and winter months.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping and precision abilities is highly desirable.
• Ability to work under time pressures and adjust to sudden work patterns or schedules.
• Ability to work independently and with teams and must have good interpersonal skills.

Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts, evenings (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.), weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
