• Perform basic nursing skills, including attending to personal hygiene and dietary needs of patients.
• Safely and effectively use patient care equipment (e.g., pulse oximeter, sequential compression devices, monitors).
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with staff, physicians, hospital and university officials, and the public.
• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills; basic math proficiency.
• Follow verbal and written directions in detail.
• Work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
• Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer).

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Nursing Assistant training program.
• Six months or more experience as a Nursing Assistant or nursing technician.
• Current District of Columbia Nursing Assistant License.
• Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

• Ability to perform basic nursing skills and maintain patient safety.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
