Under the supervision of the FNE/SANE Supervisor and Sexual Assault Clinic Medical Director, and following orders from the Emergency Department Provider when necessary, the Forensic Nurse Examiner provides independent, comprehensive care to adults and adolescents presenting to the Emergency Department with a complaint of acute sexual assault and/or non‑fatal strangulation.
Responsibilities- Follow protocols for forensic evaluation and care.
- Obtain forensic evidence and perform clinical assessments.
- Document findings and provide expert testimony as required.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
