Med Surg RN – Oncology
Schedule:
Patient ratio: 5:1 (days, nights, weekends). Weekend requirement:
Yes — 4 weekend shifts/month or every other weekend.
Requirements:
Minimum: 1 year RN experience.
Required:
Oncology experience. Preferred: 3+ years med-surg; previous charge experience preferred.
Required:
BLS. Preferred: OCN. Charting system: EPIC.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients in a medical-surgical setting. Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and manage IV therapies. Collaborate with healthcare team members, including specialists and support services. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and self-care. Adhere to safety protocols, including isolation precautions and PPE usage. Participate in rapid response procedures as necessary.
Compliance / Notes:
Orientation: 24 hours. References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years (required prior to start). Pre-start mandatory modules (~16 hours non-billable on average); completion recorded in Workramp. All RTO must be included in submittal.
