Role SummaryAccountable for the direct and indirect care of infants and women in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Develops feeding plans for infants, including breastfeeding support, breast pumping, and supplementation as appropriate. Provides lactation support and education to inpatients and outpatients as directed by referral or during the post‑discharge clinic visits. Performs duties in a manner that supports teamwork, respect, and the philosophy of nursing care, reflecting the Core Values of Providence Health & Services.
Required Qualifications- Associate’s degree in nursing
- Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire
- International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) (Facility Managed) upon hire
- At least 2 years of experience providing lactation care in Labor and Delivery, Post‑Partum, or SCN department or an outpatient mother‑baby clinical setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Registered Nurses without a bachelor’s degree are required to obtain a BSN within 3 years of hire unless they have 20 years of RN experience.
