American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Tele RN for a 13-week short-term acute care assignment requiring 2 years of experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- Surgical Acute unit caring for post-surgical, medical-surgical, and medical-telemetry patients
- Telemetry patients monitored remotely via on-site Central Monitoring Unit (CMU)
- Patient ratio of 1:5 on both day and night shifts
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required between like units within skill set
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, chest tube management, oxygen administration, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response/code teams required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across a wide range of post-surgical, medical-surgical, and telemetry patients
- Facility is a short-term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for a travel contract
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must live outside the 50-mile radius
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront and kept minimal, ideally under 7 days
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Pending license candidates accepted, with preference for quick starts
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
