American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of Cath Lab experience.
Details- Work in a 107-bed, non-trauma designated hospital with 1 Cath Lab, 1 IR room, and 1 Hybrid room
- 4x 10-hour day shifts per week, , 36 hours/week
- Cath Lab cases include LHC/RHC, diagnostic and interventional procedures, IABPs, Rotablator, STEMIs/MIs, pacemakers, generator changes, MICRAs, staged/protected PCIs, and CTOs
- IR cases include coil embolizations, nephrostomy tubes/nephroureteral stents, central lines, ports, G/GJ tubes, IVC filters, dialysis catheters, and clot management devices
- Hybrid room cases include AAA grafts, peripheral/AO runoffs, and fistulograms
- No EP/ablations, Neuro IR, or Y90 procedures performed
- 7-14 cases per day, each room staffed with a 3-person team
- No floating required
- On-call required: 1-2 weeknight call shifts (end of shift until following morning) and 1 weekend per month (end of shift Friday through Monday morning), with a 30-minute response time
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Merge hemodynamic monitoring, GE C-arms, and Med Rad injectors
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, with Cath Lab experience mandatory
- Combined Cath Lab and IR experience preferred
- Impella experience preferred
- Ability to read/interpret EKGs, circulate, sedate, and transport patients
- Willingness to travel with and manage IABP patients transported to another facility if needed
- Support staff includes 24/7 phlebotomy, RT, and hospitalist coverage, with IR physicians and cardiologists on-site during the day and on call at night
- No on-site transporter; case scheduling handled by a scheduler
- Orientation includes MHS NEO orientation, with 1-2 weeks depending on IR experience, plus buddy call shifts
- MHS Tele test required prior to arrival
- Holiday call coverage required on a rotating basis (every other holiday)
- RTO approval allowed for up to 7 days; requests for holidays or longer periods require advance approval
- Self-scheduling model with minor adjustments to fill gaps
- Scrubs and lead aprons provided, including extended sizing upon request
- Free on-site parking available
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
