Job Description:

Part-Time School Nurse (LPN) | Olympia, WA | 2026–2027 School Year Ampersand Therapy is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time, school-based position in Olympia, Washington, for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a meaningful opportunity to provide safe, student-centered nursing care while collaborating with school staff and supervising healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities Provide Direct Nursing Care:
Deliver care in routine and stable clinical situations while recognizing and responding to students’ basic healthcare needs.

Administer Medications and Treatments:
Perform tasks permitted under WAC , including medication administration and selected treatments.

Implement Nursing Regimens:
Carry out selected components of nursing care plans as delegated by a Registered Nurse or licensed provider.

Monitor Student Health:
Observe, document, and report changes in students’ conditions to supervising healthcare professionals.

Support Complex Care:
Assist Registered Nurses in complex or rapidly changing clinical situations.

Maintain Compliance:
Follow Washington State Board of Nursing standards, infection-control protocols, school district procedures, and organizational policies.

Collaborate With Care Teams:
Work interdependently with Registered Nurses, physicians, therapists, educators, families, and support staff to provide coordinated care.

Maintain Documentation:
Complete accurate and timely nursing notes, treatment records, and other required documentation.

Promote Student Access:
Support students’ health, safety, dignity, and ability to participate in their educational programs.

Required Qualifications Active Washington State LPN license in good standing under RCW 18.79

Graduation from an approved practical nursing program

Current CPR/BLS certification

Ability to perform nursing duties within the LPN scope of practice established by WAC Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

Ability to complete all required fingerprinting, agency onboarding, and district clearance requirements before starting

Preferred Qualifications Experience in Washington healthcare settings, including schools, clinics, long-term care, home health, or hospitals

Pediatric or school nursing experience

Familiarity with Washington State Board of Nursing guidance, including the Scope of Practice Decision Tree Experience supporting diverse populations and providing trauma-informed care Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly compensationW-2 employment
