American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN with required charge nurse experience for a night shift position requiring WA or compact RN license.

• Float pool position covering Med/Surg, Telemetry, and ER boarded patients across the hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Nurse to patient ratio varies 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
• May include charge responsibilities on select smaller units staffed with 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs
• Charge duties include managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination
• Uses Epic EMR
• Requires floating between sister facilities near the contracted location

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Cardiac step down and telemetry experience ideal but not required
• Required certifications: BLS; preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience working as an RN in the US required (Canadian experience alone does not qualify)
• Skilled in cardiac telemetry, cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and nasal cannula respiratory support

• Serve as part of a float team meeting patient care needs across multiple units and patient populations
• Provide charge nurse coverage on select small units, coordinating staffing and bed flow
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, with local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
• First-time travelers are not preferred; prior travel experience is required
