JOB SUMMARYResponsible for providing alcohol and non‑alcohol beverage service to all guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner displaying a high standard of guest service. Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol. Will work in different venues within the Beverage Department where alcohol drinks are served; serves food in the appropriate beverage venues. Accepts money and gives change, stocks supplies, assists bartender as needed.
Must adhere to all established rules, regulations, policies and procedures for the Nisqually Red Wind Casino and the Beverage Department.
- Gives superior guest service at all times.
- Responsible for taking beverage orders and serving complementary beverages in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with department guest service standards.
- Greet guests positively, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner.
- Monitor guests' needs continually ensuring all requests are promptly filled.
- Circulate throughout the assigned areas, announcing “Cocktails” and “Beverages.”
- Process cash and credit card transactions in accordance with department standard operating procedures.
- Collect empty glasses and other debris in the assigned area and stations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for guests and associates.
- Clean ashtrays.
- Report any guest concerns or complaints to immediate supervisor.
- Serve alcohol responsibly; watch for signs of intoxication and follow proper procedures to discontinue service when necessary.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of all products and supplies needed for service in assigned stations.
- Understand the goals, mission, vision and core values of the organization and demonstrate commitment in terms of individual and team performance.
- Contribute to a positive team environment.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to obtain a Class 12 Mixologist permit.
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler permit.
- Basic math skills.
- Must possess good communication skills and the ability to speak effectively and interact well with guests and associates.
- Ability to work within time constraints, stay on task and follow directions.
- Minimum one (1) year of guest service experience.
- Must be able to work with a variety of people with diverse personalities.
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm and professional.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Pass NRWC pre‑employment testing.
- Ability to work peak business hours.
- Ability to obtain a Class II gaming license.
- Six months’ experience serving cocktails.
- Ability to work with P.O.S. system.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must have the ability to lift, bend, stoop, and twist while serving beverages.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to tolerate a smoke‑filled environment.
- Must be able to maneuver through crowded areas.
- Required to be able to reach with hands and arms.
