Overview
The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate provides essential customer service and store operations support, promoting US Foods’ strategy of Great Food, Made Easy. The role includes cashier, stocker, and customer courtesy duties across multiple departments.
SchedulePart‑time closing shifts, 10 AM – 7 PM (Tues, Wed, Sat); weekends and holidays may be required. 20‑30 hours per week.
Key ResponsibilitiesFront End
- Deliver exceptional customer experience and build relationships;
- Operate POS efficiently, scanning merchandise and resolving barcode issues;
- Transfer items at checkout, perform visual inspection for tampering;
- Check carts for accuracy and missing items;
- Synchronize front‑end opening and closing duties.
Sales Floor & Stocking
- Increase sales and manage shrinkage; assist customers in locating products;
- Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves neatly, perform rotation and quality audits;
- Label merchandise (blaster tags, catch‑weight, PLU tags);
- Replenish floor using FIFO principles;
- Use computer programs (Word, Excel, proprietary software) to support inventory and pricing tasks;
- Maintain visual appeal and availability of products;
- Assist with price changes and inventory counts.
Customer Courtesy
- Maintain a clean, safe store environment; report safety issues to management;
- Clean sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and entry area;
- Collect and return carts from parking lot and corrals;
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Store Management.
- 6‑12 months retail cashier or stocking experience required;
- 1 year retail selling or customer service experience preferred;
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Basic computer skills, cash handling, and office equipment proficiency;
- Physical ability to stand, walk continuously, lift and carry up to 51‑100 lbs frequently; lift 1‑10 lbs continuously; perform other tasks (pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, bending, twisting) as needed.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and adaptability;
- Fast, efficient, professional service delivery;
- Logical thinking, basic math aptitude, and good common sense;
- Self‑driven, multi‑tasking, prioritizing, independent or team work;
- Flexible hourly schedule including holidays and weekends.
Pay starting at $17.69 per hour, with potential for overtime. Expected base rate: $17.13 – $24.00, based on experience, education, skills, function, location, and applicable law.
