Position: Operations Manager (Full-Time)

Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for fulfilling Buckle’s mission to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our guests. The Ops Manager oversees a variety of operational tasks assigned by store management and may also complete duties of the Freight Coordinator and Visual Merchandiser based on business needs and store volume.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Compare and verify merchandise invoices to items received to ensure that shipments are correct.
  • Send alterations, layaways, or special orders to guests via Fed Ex.
  • Check accuracy of freight packing slips and transfer slips.
  • Confirm all transfers have been processed through the register and match items shipped.
  • When shipping items to guests and other stores, fold items and place them in appropriate sized box.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Remove pins and plastic from merchandise shipped in.
  • Place Sensormatic tags on each garment in the designated place.
  • Hang and fold merchandise to be put on the sales floor and steam when necessary.
  • Assist on floor projects when necessary.
Operations
  • Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Develop and maintain POS software knowledge.
  • Receive freight boxes and store transfers through register.
  • Send discrepancies in store mail and file non‑errors for 30 days.
  • Maintain all shipment‑related paperwork.
  • Identify and prevent security risks and thefts.
  • Make Fed Ex labels for all outgoing packages and sort by required shipment transit time.
  • Send recalls and RTVs on a weekly basis.
  • Keep supplies stocked and organized.
  • Organize fixtures and shelving.
  • Maintain neat, clean, organized work area.
  • Maintain daily work files.
  • Communicate policy violations to Store Manager, District Manager, and/or HR.
  • Provide feedback to store leadership on merchandise handling concerns.
  • Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies.
  • Fulfill mission statement through high‑level customer service and team spirit.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

No prior experience or training required.

Additional Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, and jump regularly. Occasionally sit. Must lift and maneuver 50 lbs. Requires good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, focus).

Work Environment

Typically works in a retail store setting. Noise level is usually moderate.
