We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Assistant Visual Merchandiser to join our team and help create a beautiful shopping space in this destination greenhouse's gift department. This position supports the execution and maintenance of visual merchandising throughout the store, helping ensure products are presented in a way that reflects the Watson’s brand, inspires our customers, and supports sales.

The ideal candidate combines creativity with strong organizational skills, enjoys hands-on work, and is comfortable adapting displays and merchandise throughout the day as our customers shop.

The Assistant Visual Merchandiser plays an important role in creating the special atmosphere Watson’s strives to provide every customer who walks through our doors. We take pride in creating a high-quality, high-service shopping experience, and our visual merchandising team helps bring our passion for garden, home, and life to life throughout the store.

Working closely with the Visual Merchandiser and other departments, the Assistant Visual Merchandiser utilizes their passion for interior decor to help execute display plans, maintain visual standards, merchandise new and seasonal products, and keep displays fresh, organized, safe, and shoppable.

• Assist with the execution of visual merchandising and display plans
  , ensuring projects and changes to the store schedule are completed efficiently and on time.
• Maintain and adjust displays throughout the day based on customer shopping patterns, inventory levels, product movement, and overall presentation.
• Stock and merchandise new, seasonal, and changing products safely and efficiently while maintaining Watson’s visual standards and brand.
• Communicate with the Visual Merchandiser regarding project progress, merchandising needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute ideas and creative input to merchandising decisions and execute agreed-upon visual direction.
• Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising Lead, Merchandising Department Manager, remote team members, and partnering departments, including Fulfillment, Customer Experience, and Purchasing.
• Style, arrange, and replenish merchandise to maintain displays that are visually appealing, organized, accessible, and easy for customers to shop.
• Build, install, move, or modify physical displays and merchandising fixtures as needed.
• Maintain an organized and efficient backstock area to support merchandising and replenishment needs.
• Assist with special merchandising projects, seasonal transitions, and store initiatives as assigned.
• Remain active on the sales floor, monitoring displays and responding to merchandise as it sells down or moves.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service and assist with sales as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

• Previous retail merchandising or visual merchandising experience required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of visual merchandising principles, product presentation, and design-centered merchandising.
• Ability to merchandise creatively without relying solely on a planogram.
• Previous retail or sales experience preferred.
• Collaborative, proactive, flexible, and self-motivated approach to work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Clear, concise, and transparent communication skills, including the ability to ask questions and seek clarification when needed.
• Creative and forward-thinking approach to merchandising.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. and push or pull wheeled racks weighing up to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical activities including climbing, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule during peak seasons, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
