* Minimum 2-year experience in pouring and finishing concrete preferred.
* Experience in setting up concrete forms and sidewalk maintenance preferred.
* Experience in street and rights-of-way maintenance operations and asphalt work.

* Working knowledge of street maintenance equipment.
* Ability to work emergency and on-call shifts.
** Examples of Duties:
** 1. Responsible for the general maintenance and repair the City's water distribution system.  
2. Skilled operation of heavy duty equipment and vehicles.  
3. Repair broken lines or leaks in service lines.  
4. Resolve field conflicts with contractors and others as necessary.  
5. Install and maintain water hydrants.  
6. Research and update as-built files to facilitate map updates.  
7. Diagnose operation problems, plan and complete corrective action.  
8. Respond to water system breakdowns and service calls on 24-hour year around basis.  
9. Punctual, regular and reliable attendance is essential for successful job performance.

* 3) CROSS CONNECTION SPECIALIST:
* ** Examples of Duties:
** 1. In addition to the responsibilities and skills listed under Water Distribution, responsible for the development, implementation, regulation, maintenance, inspection, and testing of the City's Cross-Connection Program.  
2. Develop public and customer service information program.  
3. Ensure the City fully complies with State of Washington and SDWA requirements in maintaining a cross-connection program.  
4. Ensures all policy guidelines, City codes, plan review processes, Water System Standards, Fire codes and UPC codes are met.  5. Punctual, regular and reliable attendance is essential for successful job performance.

* 4) STORM AND WASTE WATER COLLECTION
* 1. Knowledge of the work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with park maintenance work.  
2. Ability to perform basic carpentry, cement finishing, plumbing, and electrical work.  
3. Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment, including:  gang mower, backhoe, front loader, tractor, dump truck, power saw, jackhammer.  
4. Ability to perform landscape installation and prune a variety of trees and shrubs.  
5. Ability to perform small engine repairs.  
6. Ability to independently layout sports fields.  
7. Ability to appropriately apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.  
8. Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, occasionally under unfavorable conditions.  
9. Ability to work from technical drawings and blueprints.  10. Ability to follow instructions.  11. Ability to select and use appropriate tools for the completion of assigned tasks.  12. Ability to use common sense and apply safe work habits when working in dangerous areas or with power equipment.  13. Ability to use tact and good judgment in responding to questions from citizens and the general public.

** Experience/

Education:

** 1. One year experience in park maintenance work; and ability to demonstrate satisfactory work in the above areas required.  
** Special Requirements:
** 1. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.  
2. Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) by the end of the 6 month probationary period.  
3. Some positions will require possession of a Class A CDL upon hire.  
4. Once obtained, a current valid CDL is an ongoing requirement as a condition of employment for this position.

* 7) ARBORIST
* ** Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
** 1. Knowledge of the work hazards and the applicable safety precautions associated with park maintenance work; including lifting and lowering of devices, chainsaw operation, aerial lift operation, felling, pruning, and chipping.  
2. Performs technical tree work such as pruning, tree felling, bucking, brush clipping, and tree removals using a variety of ground and aerial techniques and equipment.  This includes using rope and saddle and spur and flip line climbing techniques, aerial man lifts, cranes, chainsaws, and rigging systems.  
3. Knowledge of the work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with park maintenance work.  
4. Ability to perform basic carpentry, cement finishing, plumbing, and electrical work.  
5. Ability to operates a wide variety of equipment such as trucks, brush clippers, tractors, loaders, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, as well as other power equipment and hand tools.  
6. Ability to perform landscape installation and prune a variety of trees and shrubs.  
7. Performs routine maintenance on tree care gear, tools and equipment.  
8. Ability to perform small engine repairs.  
9. Ability to appropriately apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.  10. Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, occasionally under unfavorable conditions.  11.
