About the DivisionThe Property Management Division (PMD) is responsible for providing comprehensive facilities management through the capital and operating budget process. The PMD falls within the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau and consists of three sections: the Facilities Section, the Fleet Section, and the Supply Section.
Position OverviewElectronics Technician 4 – Tumwater, WA. This traveling position may require travel across the state up to 80% of the year.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert-level insight into the installation and maintenance of building and bullpen security-related systems to facilitate repairs and support new installations.
- Maintain, repair, and install security cameras, bullpen security systems, and handle locksmithing duties (e.g., door handles, electrified hardware, deadbolts, night latches, electric strikes, door closers, hinges, re‑building door handles and padlocks, SFIC removal/installation, lock picking, key cutting/stamping). Also install cameras, video decoders, monitors, monitor wall mounts, photo‑eye perimeter alarms, motion sensors, card readers, and NVRs.
- Perform facility maintenance as needed: electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, painting, locksmithing, concrete, and other construction trades.
- Provide input to planning staff on scope of future projects and consult with construction staff on installation details; may direct construction crews and vendors on site.
- Assist other facilities and departments as requested by supervisor.
- Read blueprints and plans; inspect projects to ensure compliance with WSP regulations, local and state codes; determine scope of work, schedule of values, materials needed, and provide cost estimates.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in any of the following construction/building related trades: HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, concrete/masonry, painting, electrical, cabinetry, or building security (locksmithing, CCTV, card access, intrusion alarms).
- OR possess an EL06 license with 2+ years of security‑related trade experience.
- Valid Washington State driver license.
- Ability to climb ladders, lift 75 pounds repeatedly, sit, stand, walk for extended periods, and use hand tools and power tools overhead for extended periods.
- Must be able to travel statewide up to 80% of the year.
