Electrician Lead
- High Voltage

As an Electrician Lead
- High Voltage within our Buildings & Grounds team, you will serve as a fully qualified electrician responsible for the sophisticated electrical infrastructure of our campus. Your role involves expert construction, installation, and maintenance of diverse systems ranging from the medium‑voltage distribution network and primary service entry panels to intricate interior wiring and motor controls. You will troubleshoot critical equipment such as pumps and fans, manage large‑scale system upgrades, and provide vital emergency response to ensure safety and reliability of our power circuits and facility instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform expert installation, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical infrastructure, including switch gear, transformers, and distribution systems, within commercial and government facilities.
  • Manage lighting and life‑safety systems by maintaining LED fixtures, conduit wiring, and emergency signage to ensure continuous facility safety and functionality.
  • Coordinate critical electrical shutdowns and planned outages through preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Execute the installation, retrofit, and replacement of electrical systems for facility upgrades and tenant improvements by interpreting blueprints and one‑line diagrams.
  • Manage small capital projects, including the commissioning and functional testing of new equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for proposed electrical work to support project planning and budgetary oversight.
  • Maintain precise documentation of maintenance logs, inspections, and test results in strict accordance with NFPA 70, NFPA 110, and Washington Administrative Code requirements.
  • Respond to emergency calls via an on‑call rotation while ensuring full compliance with safety regulations, including WISHA, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and confined space procedures.
  • Other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to lift or move fifty (50) lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Journey‑level standing as an Electrician EL‑01 as attested by Washington State Labor and Industries or two (2) years of experience as a journey‑level industrial or commercial electrician.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills to include use of Microsoft Office and ability to learn information systems (e.g., Mainsaver).
  • Ability to work independently with little or no on‑site supervision and exercise sound judgment in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Demonstrated reliability in achieving results with minimal oversight.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, and equipment used in the electrical, carpentry, paint, and HVAC trades.
