This 8hpd position works Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, 200 days per year.
This position is split between OTPAA and Non-Rep Classified. The OTPAA hours are 4 hpd, 200 days per year and the Non-Rep Classified hours are 4 hpd, 190 days per year.

Duties Include- Serves as district support for the McKinney-Vento / Homeless program
- Serves as a liaison between Special Education and Transportation departments and collaborates with district staff to support student transportation needs
- Manages transportation requests and coordinates services for McKinney-Vento, Foster Care, Special Education, Extended School Year (ESY), and summer school programs as assigned
- Supports and assists district’s McKinney-Vento / Homeless Administrator with homeless issues, practices and federal legislation according to the McKinney-Vento Assistance Act
- Assist the OSD McKinney-Vento / Homeless Administrator as needed
- Assists with the identification of homeless students
- Provides supports so that homeless students receive a free and equal education with access to the same programs and services as any student
- Provides school district personnel, guardians and unaccompanied youth with a menu of services available within the community
- Provides social services, referrals, and coordination with community organizations to connect students and families with medical, dental, mental health, and other needed services
- Assists students with school supplies and access to other resources
- Distributes information about the program and the rights of homeless children and youth throughout the community
- Works closely with district support services to ensure homeless students receive a free and equal education with access to the same programs and services as any student
- Provides support for district staff working directly with homeless students
- Helps develop and implement system-wide procedures and protocols to support the district’s McKinney-Vento program
- Solicits donations and community resources to support the district’s McKinney-Vento program
- Stays current with laws, regulations, and policies impacting homeless students and provides training and informational presentations for district staff
- Gathers data, maintains records, compiles reports, and supports program compliance requirements
- Works with Program Specialists to budget, track expenditures, reimbursements, and program funds
- Coordinates and manages McKinney-Vento reimbursement activities in collaboration with district departments
- Serves as a liaison between students, families, district staff, transportation personnel, and community agencies to facilitate access to services and supports
- Arranges, coordinates, and manages transportation services for homeless students and families when in the student's best academic interest
- Coordinates and manages Foster Care transportation and reimbursement activities as assigned
- Completes high-level administrative tasks including directing work, compiling data, creating reports, and coordinating program activities
- Assists other office personnel and district staff to support the completion of departmental work and district initiatives
- Interacts effectively with students, families, teachers, district employees, community partners, and the public
- Performs complex and specialized tasks with minimal supervision, exercises sound independent judgment, and maintains compliance with established procedures, timelines, and reporting requirements
- Demonstrates technical knowledge, skills, and abilities in assigned program areas and related district processes
- Ability to relate to and be sensitive towards students and families
- Must have experience in working with ethnic, minority, low income communities
- Possess skills to operate standard office equipment and software
