Wellness Court Coordinator
The Wellness Court Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of the affairs of the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court. This position is responsible for independently planning, assigning, and carrying out of program projects in compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements of the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court. The Wellness Court Coordinator is responsible for administrative and supervisory functions within the department such as the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and techniques to facilitate the complex duties and issues of the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court.
The Wellness Court Coordinator delegates and coordinates the activities and efforts of the Healing to Wellness Court Staff. The Wellness Court Coordinator is responsible for making timely and independent decisions regarding work priorities while fulfilling the legal responsibilities of the Nisqually Tribal Healing to Wellness Court. Work is performed under the guidance and supervision of the Nisqually Court Administrator. The Wellness Court Coordinator will make recommendations for new court service opportunities and implement accordingly.
The Wellness Court coordinator will work interdepartmentally within the Nisqually Tribal Network to connect clients with additional services. The Wellness Court Coordinator shall also be responsible for promoting awareness and education regarding the Program and will act as a liaison with Federal, State, and Tribal representatives, as necessary.
Primary responsibilities include working cooperatively with attorneys, probation, treatment providers, and the healing to wellness team to review and evaluation applications for court services, assisting in the application process and coordination services for the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court participants and Nisqually service providers, assisting participants to ensure they comply with court ordered services, planning and coordinating all functions of the Healing to Wellness Court including receiving filings of pleadings, documents, and applications, monitoring, evaluating, and recording client progress with respect to treatment goals and collaborating with counselors, medical providers, and probation officers to plan and coordinate treatment based on the participant's needs, referring clients to needed community resources such as housing, vocational training, high school equivalency course, public assistance, mental and physical health services, and/or other services to assist in the recovery of court participants, collecting information and taking detailed notes updating files for each meeting or appointment to document treatment progress making sure to note missed appointments while documenting treatment milestones, monitoring court participants compliance with court orders and reporting information regularly to the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court team, identifying opportunities to improve court services, making recommendations for new services that the court may provide, analyzing, reviewing, and providing data collection in preparation of monthly reports, making special effort to coordinate with the Wellness Court Judge to meet the expectations of the court and provide superior service, assisting in monitoring and coordinating the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court budget, establishing goals and objectives for the upcoming fiscal year, developing project workloads, identifying opportunities to improve court services, and providing recommendations to the Court Administrator and Wellness Court Judge.
Develops, maintains, implements, and enforces policies and procedures as set forth in the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court, maintains case numbers, dockets, court calendars, dispositions, and case files of the Nisqually Healing to Wellness Court, provides clerical and technical support to the Court Administrator and Tribal Judges, prepares and edits routine correspondence, memoranda, orders, jury instructions, notices, dockets, judgements, executions, warrants, affidavits, and any other forms/documents as necessary, develops edits, creates, and…
