Field Service Engineer
Location: Northern Ireland – Must be willing to travel (HQ in Omagh)
Duration: Permanent
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and commissioning of mobile screening and crushing equipment. The role involves providing high-quality technical support to customers, ensuring maximum machine uptime and maintaining strong customer relationships while adhering to health and safety standards.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mobile crushers, screeners, conveyors and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults.
- Conduct machine inspections and produce detailed service reports.
- Replace and repair components including engines, hydraulic systems, bearings, conveyors, crusher chambers, screen boxes and drive systems.
- Perform warranty and campaign work as required.
- Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for customers.
- Assist operators and maintenance personnel with machine operation and preventative maintenance practices.
- Support commissioning and decommissioning of equipment.
- Liaise with manufacturers and internal technical teams to resolve complex issues.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Complete accurate service reports, inspection sheets, and timesheets.
Experience:
- Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, or equivalent).
- Proven experience working on heavy plant, crushing, screening, recycling, quarrying, mining, or construction equipment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Diesel engines
- Hydraulics
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical drive systems
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Field-based role covering designated territories throughout NI.
- Frequent travel and occasional overnight stays.
- Participation in an on-call rota may be required.
- Work undertaken at quarries, recycling facilities, construction sites and customer premises.
- Requirement to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
