The Role Reporting directly to the Mechanical Superintendent,you will be responsible for the continuous uptime, inspection, and repair of critical underground electrical infrastructure, heavy machinery, and automated control networks.
Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance on:
- Heavy mobile equipment, Ventilation fans, primary and auxiliary Fixed and submersible pumps 3 phase distribution & switching panels 1000v 660v transformers / substations and MCCs Telemetry systems Leaky feeder communications systems. Install, test, terminate, and splice high-voltage cables, substations, switch gear, and transformers. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex automated control systems, including PLCs, variable speed drives (VSDs), and instrumentation loops. Enforce and strictly adhere to Mine Safety Regulations, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out/Try out (LOTOTO) protocols and isolation procedures.
Accurately document all maintenance actions, diagnostics, and statutory inspections within the site CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). About You Valid, recognized Industrial Electrician Trade Qualification. Certification in High Voltage (HV) Switching Operations preferrable 3 years of experience in heavy industrial environments, ideally within hard rock or coal mining operations. Strong computer skills word / excel /power point Strong technical aptitude in interpreting complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
A strict, proactive commitment to workplace health, safety, and environment protocols. Valid, drivers license and the ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical and background screen.
